I've been a Cryan' Shames fan since 1967. Two days ago, I discovered some very old photos and a box of slides from two different periods of Cryan' Shames history. The first set of photos are from December of 1967 taken at a concert at the Racine, Wisconsin YMCA gym-what was known at the time as "The Sound". The "Sound" (even though it was the "Y") was well known in the 60's and early 70's for bringing in great groups; The Association, Buffalo Springfield, The Yardbirds, Jay and The Americans, Grassroots (and many more) as well as the many popular Chicago-based bands of the period. It seemed like the Shames were in Racine alot during this time and they became my all-time favorite band; I just loved their tight vocal harmonies. Extremely talented and underrated! Being a long-time guitar player, I played in bands during those years many of which offered up a full set of Cryan Shames material! Seeing these photos, it's interesting to see what sort of equipment, instruments and wardrobes were prevalent at the time.

The second set of photos (the slides) are from February 1970, ironically taken at the same place, the YMCA! The slides were very, very dark. But since I make my living as a graphic designer and am intimately familiar with Adobe Photoshop, I was able to get these images to come alive and relive some of those great memories! I thought, after viewing some of the photos posted on the website, that you may want to take a look at these. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the quality especially given the age of the photos. I also thought that the Cryan Shames bandmembers from that period may have interest in seeing these. Sadly, there are some great shots of Isaac...maybe his family would enjoy seeing them.

Thanks for enduring my rambling..
